  • 3 avocados
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 lime or 1tbsp of lime juice )
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chilli pepper
  • pinch of pepper
  • pinch of salt


Step 1

Prepare your avocados by cutting them length in half by running the knife length wise around the pit. Grab one cut half of the avocado and twist. This should expose the pit inside. Hit your knife ( edge facing pit ) so it gets a little bit stuck, and twist. The pit should pop right out.

Step 2

Using a spoon scoop out the flesh of the avocado and put into a bowl. Using a fork mash up the avocado until it becomes a lightly chunky paste.

Step 3

Chop finely a quarter of your red onion and add to mixture in the bowl

Step 4

Chop finely one whole tomato and add to mixture in the bowl

Step 5

Using a garlic crusher, crush the two cloves of garlic ( adjust to taste ) and add to mixture in the bowl

Step 6

Slice finely as little or as much of the chilli pepper and add to the mixture in the bowl.

Step 7

Add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper

Step 8

Mix everything together

Taste ! Make sure your spices are right

Step 10

Slice the lime in half and squeeze in juice into the bowl. Mix again

Step 11

Taste ! Make sure the flavours are coming together

If everything tastes good, cover the bowl in plastic wrap and put into the fridge for at least 15 minutes. This will let the avocado absorb some of the flavours prior to serving. Alternatively dig right in !

Lasts in the fridge 2-4 days.

NOTE: if you cover the Guacamole with plastic wrap right against the avocado, trying to remove any air pockets, it should prevent it from turning grey in color.
